Restrictions on Use of Materials
This site is owned and operated by Rise Institute for Literacy Inc. (“RISE”). Unless otherwise indicated, the contents of riseliteracy.org are the property of RISE and are protected, without limitation, pursuant to U.S. and foreign copyright and trademark laws. No material from riseliteracy.org may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way, except that you may download one copy of the materials on any single computer for your personal noncommercial use only, provided you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices. Modification of the materials or use of the materials for any other purpose is a violation of RISE’s copyright, trademark, and trade secret rights and others’ proprietary rights. For purposes of this agreement, the use of any such material on any other Web site or networked computer environment is prohibited.
In the event you download software from the site, the software, including any files, images incorporated in or generated by the software, and data accompanying the software (together, the “Software”) are licensed to you by RISE. RISE does not transfer title to the Software to you. As between you and RISE, RISE retains full and complete right, title, and interest in and to the Software and all intellectual property rights therein. You may not redistribute, sell, decompile, reverse-engineer, or disassemble the Software.

Rise Institute for Literacy Inc. (“RISE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this site, how we use it, and the choices you have. Always check the privacy policy of each Web site you visit.

By using this site, you agree with the terms of this privacy policy. Whenever you submit information via this site, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
When you fill out a form on our site — such as our Contact Us form, a request for information, a tutor application, a workshop registration or survey, or a request to sponsor a student — we collect the information you submit, which may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, school or organization, and any message or details you provide.
If you make a donation or sponsor a student, your payment is processed by PayPal. We do not collect or store your credit card or bank account information ourselves; PayPal handles that directly and shares with us only confirmation that a transaction occurred.
If you book a tutoring session or consultation through our online scheduler, the information you provide during booking is collected and processed by our scheduling provider, Acuity Scheduling, on our behalf.
We use cookies only as needed to support basic site functionality, such as form submissions and embedded scheduling or payment tools. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking, and we do not currently use third-party analytics on this site.
Security Measures
RISE is committed through the use of firewalls and other security measures to securing data and preventing unauthorized use of personal information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed secure. As a result, RISE cannot ensure the security of any information transmitted to us, so you do so at your own risk.
Use of Your Personal Information
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiries and requests, process tutor applications, administer our workshops and record survey or course results, process donations and student sponsorships, schedule tutoring appointments, and send you newsletters or updates if you’ve signed up to receive them.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate our programs, with service providers who help us do so — including PayPal (to process donations and sponsorship payments), Acuity Scheduling (to manage tutoring appointments), and Google Workspace (which we use to send and receive email related to your inquiry) — and with RISE staff and volunteers who need it to respond to your request or deliver a program you’ve signed up for. We may also disclose information if required to do so by a court or other governing body.
About Children
RISE does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If RISE receives Personal Identifiable Information from children under 13, we delete any such information received. We encourage children to talk to their parents about the use of the Internet and the disclosure of personal information.
Links to Other Websites
The RISE site contains links to other Web sites, including our payment and scheduling providers. RISE is not responsible for the content or privacy policies of these sites.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the revised policy will be posted on this site. Please check back periodically and especially before you provide any personal identifiable information. This privacy policy was last updated in September 2026.
