Tyson has worked with thousands of committed educators in the literacy landscape for over 20 years, to help empower students who struggling readers. He has presented at education and technology conventions throughout North America and internationally. Tyson is the president of Reading Horizons, a national and international publishing enterprise focused on K-Adult literacy. Since its inception, over 36 years ago, Reading Horizons has focused on publishing and marketing industry-leading education products based on the Reading Horizons reading strategies. He received an Bachelor Degree in Business Management from the University of Utah and an MBA from Brigham Young University. Tyson first joined Reading Horizons in 1998 as Executive Vice President, focusing on Marketing and Sales. Tyson became President of Reading Horizons in October 2001 and has overseen steady sales growth and a myriad of improvements to the Reading Horizons portfolio of products. In the late 2000's Tyson and a few equally passionate associates recognized the need for a non-profit to promote literacy to broader audiences. Through their efforts, The RISE Institute for Literacy was born.
